Congressman from the 11th District of Illinois, 1935-1956, and States Attorney for DuPage County, 1920-1935. Chauncey W. Reed was born in West Chicago, Illinois in 1880. His father was village president and ran the general store. Reed received his L.L.B. degree in 1915 and began his political career in 1920. He died in 1956 during his eleventh congressional term.
